Von Rosenberg (1878) refers to this list as representing the “Watubella” language. However, the form of the words given in the list, specifically the lack of merger of r and l, makes it clear that the language is distinct from Watubela as spoken on Watubela island in the description of Collins 1986. The accompanying travel account makes clear that he in fact visited the village of Temertimer on the island of Kesui in the Watubela archipelago, and the language of the list is thus referred to as Kesui, rather than Watubela.
