Andersen 1997:pers.comm.): sopu ‘temper, dip in cold water; also, gild’ «celup air dingin; sepuh»’; KUL: monsopu ‘to put hot metal into water, to temper’; TOLₕ (Muthalib, Alimuddin, Chalik, et al. 1985:121): sumopu ‘to gild’ «menyepuh».
