*inia°

•  place; village.

Note: BNGₕ, MRBₕ (Adriani 1900:286, Esser 1927:15): inia ‘village’, PAD (Lara, Larobu, et al. 1991:22), MRA (Esser 1927:33): inie ‘village’. This form probably also occurs (with coalescence of ia > e) in TOL inehapo ‘where’, literally ‘what place’. This form is complex, derived from passive marker in-+ stem ia ‘to live, reside’, thus meaning ‘that which is resided (in)’.
