ane[aˈnɛ]
• n. clay plate; tradition pottery plate.piring tanah.
ane latflat plate, piring pelat
ane lukdeep plate, bowl that can hold liquid, piring dalam
Etymology: Ultimately from Tamil |fn{pāṉai} ‘large earthen pot or vessel’, but intermediate sources unknown; not found in modern Malay. The loss of initial /p/ suggests the same intermediary as that for other borrowed roots with initial /a/, believed to be reflecting original PMP *pa-.
